As most of you are aware, the spring athletic season has come to an unfortunate, unexpected, and unprecedented conclusion. On Wednesday April 22, 2020, the State Superintendent of Education, Molly Spearman, and Governor Henry McMaster closed schools down for the remainder of the year. Shortly after that decision the South Carolina High School League Executive Committee announced that the remainder of the spring sport season would be cancelled based on the Governor’s decision. This is unfortunate for all of our student-athletes and especially our seniors who will miss out on their final season of play.
We will do our best to honor our athletes who have missed out on this season in several ways beginning immediately. Please see below for the first step in honoring our senior student-athletes.
On Friday April 24, 2020 at 8:20 pm, and each Friday until graduation, we will pay tribute to our senior student-athletes by lighting up the night. We will illuminate campus by turning on the lights to all of our athletic fields for 20 minutes and 20 seconds. We invite you to drive by our campus or even through the loop at the athletic entrance but ask that you do not exit your vehicles for the safety of all involved.
