The Bobcats traveled to Goose Creek Friday night and played a tight game all the way through and escaped for a 6-5 victory. In a close contest all night it was 1 inning that was needed to help put it away for the Bobcats. With the score tied in the top of the 7th Regan Kelly and Alyssa Rose got it started with back to back singles then Marissa Majorkiewicz pulled through with a big 2 RBI Triple to make it 5-3. Sophomore Illa Hodges hit a fielder’s choice RBI that plated Marissa to make it 6-3. The bottom half of the inning was just as interesting as the game, Goose Creek got started with 2 singles of their own and then Humphrees hit what appeared to be a 2 RBI triple of her own that plated two, which made it 6-5 but a base running error had her over run third and a strike delivered by Katie Ryan helped get her for the 2nd out of the inning and slow momentum down. A. Aposte who had been swinging a hot bat all game for the home team flied out to CF Katie Ryan for the final out.
Parker Ray pitched all 7 innings walking none and striking out 2. Isabella Spears and Alyssa Rose each hit a triple. Timely hitting and defense was the key to tonight’s team win.
